The Commons team of the Jakarta Project of the ASF is happy to announce the release of Commons Email 1.0.

Jakarta Commons Email provides an API for sending email. It is built on top of the Java Mail API, which it aims to simplify. While this is the first official release for Commons Email, the code itself has been available through the commons sandbox and the commons proper for a very long time and is considered mature and stable by the developers. Commons Email is available here as source and binary from the Apache Mirror System. It will also be available from the Apache Java repository and the Maven main repository. The Commons Email team.
