Currently we have an opening for the position of Informix Database Administrator. The primary purpose of this position is to administer and maintain all databases in a consistent manner so as to provide a stable operating environment and superior levels of database integrity, availability, performance, and recoverability. This is a high-pressure situation where database availability and speed of response during the daytime hours are absolutely essential.

Responsibilities:

Define and maintain the physical database and all of its associated entities.

Consult with the Application Development areas in the use of database programming standards.

Provide backup and recovery for all databases.

Enforce standards to be used by all personnel as it relates to database and/or database programming.

Participate in any conversion required due to database product, application, or procedural change.

Communicate effectively with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel / management.

Follow recommendations for workflow and/or procedural improvements within the Database area.

Ensure integrity of production data by properly employing database utility software.

Skills & Experience Required:

3 years of Informix experience

Knowledge of Sun Solaris OS.

Excellent SQL skills

Ability to interpret data

Availability to work at night and on weekends when necessary.

Ability to work with developers.
