EXPERIENCE AND SKILL INFORMATION

Informix Tech Skills Needed : Informix 4GL V7.x, Informix Dynamic Server V9.x, Informix SQL V7.x

Technical Certification/Training : KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* High level of organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

* Demonstrated understanding of accounting and general business concepts such as inventory management, preferably in a distribution environment.

* Working knowledge of Informix RDBMS.

* Demonstrated proficiency in relational database concepts and design.

* Demonstrated ability in structured programming concepts

* Demonstrated proficiency with an advanced programming language such as Java, C#, C++, Visual Basic, VB.NET, or equivalent

* Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.

* Working knowledge of UNIX, Windows and other related operating systems.

* Working knowledge of hardware required for supporting business requirements.

DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

* Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop software applications, using structured analysis and design and submits plans to users for review and approval.

* Prepares documentation specifying development requirements and proposals for solutions.

* Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques within the Lextron environment and coding standards to convert program specifications into installed, functioning programs.

* Completes testing, code review, and debugging cycles on existing and newly developed programs, including testing and review of programs completed by other programmers.

* Analyzes information to determine, recommend and plan specifications for new development or modifications that will provide capability for proposed requirements, work load, efficient operation, and effective use of system resources.

* Assists users in the resolution and research of system issues and operating problems as assigned.

* Monitors performance of programs after implementations and makes necessary changes to improve and/or correct performance.

* Works with other programmers and IT staff members to improve overall skills, recommend development solutions, review and debug code, and resolve other issues.

OTHER DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

* May write reference, training and support documentation for publication to users.

* May provide training to users on programs and software applications.

* May participate in installation and compilation of program code.

* Other duties as assigned.
