My name is Dave and have direct contact with a large investment bank that has multiple openings. They are looking for a mixture of full time, contract to hire and just straight contractors to start immediately. You will need to have strong server based knowledge, a range of different skills, and a finance background. You will also need some C, shell, C++, UNIX, Java, Sybase, INFORMIX throughout the background. This is a very high visibility project that can have a big impact for your resume and salary.

Required Educational Background and Technical skills:

Seven plus years overall Information Technology experience with three plus years in financial application development is required.

Strong Unix/C-language and Shell/PERL scripting skills.

Server-side Java/JDBC/XML skills with good knowledge of Weblogic/Eclipse/CVS environment.

Strong experience in SQL, Stored procedures and database programming, Informix DB is a plus.

An experience in the full life cycle (design, development, maintenance) of a financial or similar application is required.

Academic background in computer science, mathematics, or engineering is preferred.

Personal qualities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills.

Ability to learn quickly and to work under aggressive deadlines and pressure.

Initiative and team player.

Strong sense of responsibility for quality and accuracy
