Sequoia provides high availability and performance scalability for databases. It is is the continuation of the C-JDBC project. It provides transparent database clustering (partitioning, replication, etc.). It works with any Java application without code modification and with any database engine. It has been successfully tested with Tomcat, JBoss, JOnAS, WebSphere, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Derby, HSQLDB, SAP DB, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Firebird, and more.

OpenXava is a framework to develop JavaEE/J2EE
applications rapidly and easily. It allows you to
define applications only with POJOs, JPA, and Java
5 annotations. It is feature rich and flexible. It
generates JSR-168 portlet applications (Liferay,
WebSphere Portal, Jetspeed, etc.).
H2 is an SQL database engine written in Java that
implements the JDBC API. Embedded, server, and
clustering modes are available. A browser based
console application is included. The database has
strong security features. Disk based and in-memory databases and tables are supported.
